All DETJER designs are inspired by the interior style: Mid Century Modern. An interior style from the 50s and 60s. This style is known for its simplicity, minimalism and timeless character. Handmade Mid Century Chairs
The special thing about our Mid Century chairs is that they are all handmade. With great attention to sustainability. This is because our furniture is made from Mindi wood: wood derived from the oak tree from Indonesian plantations. This wood bears the FLEGT label (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade). This means that the Mindi wood complies with the European Timber Regulation. The wood is then processed by craftsmen in Indonesia, with the utmost precision and love for the trade.

Although our Mid Century Modern armchairs are made in Indonesia, our brand is originally Dutch. Our designers are inspired by the Chandigarh style of the 1950s. An interior design style that refers to the modern architecture of the Indian city of Chandigarh. All our armchairs and other furniture in our webshop are based on this Chandigarh style. We use only sustainably sourced wood and other sustainable materials in our designs.
